On a wooded lot, near Traverse City in Northwest Michigan going up was the solution to capturing the dramatic views of Sleeping Bear National Park and Glen Lake. The compact tower reveals views through and above the trees that are blocked by forest at ground level. Two bedrooms and a utility space are suspended between two large walls over the parking area and entry stairs. On the top level, the main living space sits 30' above ground level with large expanses of glazing and a cantilevered deck accentuating the view over the trees to the lake.
